Dixons, the long established British electrical goods retailer, is abandoning the traditional trading outlet of the high street shop and becoming an internet-only retailer.
Ok, so the existing stores are simply being transferred to another part of the Dixons group as reported in the Guardian, but I guess Dixons should be respected for waking up and smelling the coffee when it comes to the changing face of consumerism. We buy almost all of our electrical goods from internet retailers and the rest we'll get from specialist retailers that offer the cheapest price and ease of convinience.
What Dixons, and the rest of their group including PC World, need to understand is that there prices are astronomical and their levels of customer service pretty shit. At least by dumping the inefficient stores and surly staff they could bring their prices down and compete with other retailers who are pissing all over them quite frankly...
Everything and nothing. Read it, shrug your shoulders and move on.
